Triumph House: impressive new collection of apartments pay tribute to their motorcycling past
An exciting new collection of 14, studio, one and two bedroom apartments have been launched to the market in Acton – with Help to Buy available on selected plots. The aptly named Triumph House sits on the site of a former motorcycle dealership Whitby’s, once famous for being one of the largest distributors of the Triumph motorbike across London and the South East.
The site, which has now been developed into contemporary apartments enjoys a strong motorcycling past. Previously home to the locally acclaimed Whitby’s dealership in the early 1900s, the premises were then purchased and run by motorcycle enthusiasts Brian Hunter and Tom Dickie – both famous within the motorcycling circuit in the 1960s and 70s.
In 1966 Tom Dickie won the Manx Grand Prix, before going on to win the 24-hour endurance race Bol d’Or in 1970. In addition to competing alongside his friend and colleague, in 1969 Brian Hunter took part in the Trans-Atlantic Air Race between London and New York, transporting the eventual winner for the UK leg of the race on his Triumph Tiger 110.
The homes, which are now available for reservation off-plan, enjoy a central location, with easy access on to Acton’s high street and all that this emerging part of west London has to offer. With seven train stations to its name, Acton is well connected, offering residents at Triumph House excellent connections into the city and beyond. Acton Town tube station is a short walk from the development, while nearby Acton Central and Acton Main Line Station, which forms part of the Crossrail programme, are both within easy reach.
Each of the homes at Triumph House are well specified, comprising fully fitted high gloss kitchens and contemporary bathroom suites. Each apartment also benefits from its own private balcony, providing sought after, outside space.
Gary Durden, Director of Portdevon comments: “There is a lot going on in Acton, making it an exciting time to buy here. The area offers a great selection of bars and restaurants as well as parks and leisure facilities and it’s so well connected too. It not only benefits from multiple tube and train stations but it will also form part of the Crossrail route, only adding to the area’s desirability. We have a range of apartments available at Triumph House and we expect interest to be high among young professionals and investors alike.”
Triumph House is a contemporary and highly specified collection of just 14 studio, one and two bedroom apartments, situated just off the high street in Acton, W3. Two bedroom apartments released in phase one, start from £499,950. Help to Buy is available on selected plots.
